An Air France Airbus A330-200, registration F-GZCE performing flight AF-27 from Washington Dulles,DC (USA) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was enroute at FL370 about 100nm south of Yarmouth,NS (Canada) when the crew declared PAN PAN with Moncton Area Center,NB (Canada) reporting a technical issue and requested to return to Washington Dulles. The aircraft turned around, climbed to FL380 for the return and landed safely back in Washington about 110 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported: "The technical issue was a discrepancy in the fuel indicating system as compared to the fuel quantity expected to have been on board. Maintenance carried out tests and reset the system."
