A Germanwings Airbus A319-100, registration D-AGWO performing flight 4U-89 from Munich to Cologne (Germany), was on final approach to runway 32R when a number of birds impacted right hand wing and right main gear. The aircraft continued for a safe landing. No injuries occurred, the aircraft sustained damage to the right hand wing's leading edge and the right main gear strut with parts of the bird still embedded in the strut.

A replacement A319 registration D-AGWC departed for flight 4U-310 instead of scheduled D-AGWO with a delay of 45 minutes.
