An Indigo Airbus A320-200N, registration VT-IJJ performing flight 6E-1751 from Chennai (India) to Kuwait City (Kuwait) with about 160 people on board, was climbing out of Chennai's runway 25 when the crew received a cargo smoke indication, stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Chennai for a safe landing on runway 25 about 12 minutes after departure. Emergency services did not find any trace of fire, heat or smoke.

A replacement A320-200 registration VT-IAY reached Kuwait with a delay of 2:45 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service after about 11.5 hours on the ground.
