A DHL Air Boeing 757-200, registration G-BIKM performing freight flight QY-5706 from Bucharest (Romania) to Venice (Italy), had just reached cruise flight level 380 when the crew reported a technical problem and requested to descend to FL280, a minute later the crew, audibly having donned their oxygen masks, reported they had a depressurization problem and requested to descend to FL120. The flight was subsequently cleared to FL150 and reached that level 6 minutes after leaving FL380 (average rate of descent 3800 fpm). The crew decided to continue the flight to Italy at FL150 but about 50nm eastsoutheast of Venice changed course to divert to Milan Bergamo, where the aircraft landed safely about 2 hours after leaving FL380.

The aircraft is still on the ground at Bergamo Airport about 20 hours after landing.
