A KLM Boeing 737-800, registration PH-BCG performing flight KL-1473 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Glasgow,SC (UK), was descending towards Glasgow when a security alert was raised at Glasgow Airport due to a mystery package on board of the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing about 15 minutes later and taxied to the apron, where police had established an "exclusion zone".

The airport reported a security alarm was raised over concerns with a piece of cargo. The alarm was ended about 3.5 hours after landing when emergency services declared the package safe.

The airline reported a package of dry ice began leaking.

The aircraft departed for the return flight about 4:10 hours after landing.

Later KLM added that the package contained glass tubes with vaccines which remained intact, only the cooling around them started to leak.
