A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VQ-BJM performing flight UT-365 from Moscow Vnukovo to Ufa (Russia), was climbing out of Vnukovo's runway 06 when the crew stopped the climb at about 4600 feet due to a bird strike into an engine (CFM56) and onto the windshield. The aircraft returned to Vnukovo for a safe landing on runway 01 about 15 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-500 registration VQ-BJO reached Ufa with a delay of 5 hours.

The airline confirmed an engine ingested a bird and another bird impacted the windshield without damaging it when the aircraft flew throught a flock of birds.
