An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FNVV performing flight AC-717 from New York La Guardia,NY (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 146 passengers and 5 crew, was enroute at FL220 near Syracuse,NY (USA) when heard loud noises in the cabin ducting and consulted with dispatch and maintenance. The crew subsequently descended the aircraft to 10,000 feet, declared PAN PAN and continued to Toronto. The aircraft landed safely in Toronto about one hour after the onset of noises.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found the #1 downstream valve broken and replaced the valve.
