An Austrian Airlines Embraer ERJ-195, registration OE-LWG performing flight OS-901 from Vienna to Innsbruck (Austria) with 94 passengers and 5 crew, was on final approach to Innsbruck's runway 26 when the crew initiated a go around climbing to above 11,000 feet along the valley before turning back to return to Vienna. The aircraft climbed to FL290 for the return to Vienna and landed safely on Vienna's runway 11 about 55 minutes after the go around. The aircraft taxied to the apron, where passengers disembarked normally.

The airline reported the crew decided to return to Vienna due to the length of the runway in Innsbruck, the landing in Vienna was normal.

A passenger reported the crew announced insufficient brakes performance and a wet runway prompted them to return to Vienna.
