A Fedex Boeing 757-200, registration N915FD performing flight FX-5212 from Vienna (Austria) to Budapest (Hungary) with 2 crew, was on final approach to runway 31L about to contact tower, when the crew received indication of the left hand hydraulic system having failed. The crew contacted tower, declared emergency advising they had lost their left hand hydraulic system pressure and also lost nose wheel steering, but they would continue the approach. The aircraft landed safely on runway 31L about 2 minutes later and was unable to vacate the runway. The next arrival needed to go around.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Budapest about 16 hours after landing.
