An American Airlines Embraer ERJ-190, registration N953UW performing flight AA-2163 from Boston,MA to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 99 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Boston's runway 22R when a bird impacted the aircraft's nose prompting the crew to stop the climb at 4000 feet and return to Boston for a safe landing on runway 22L about 10 minutes after departure.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration N948UW reached New York with a delay of about 80 minutes.
