A Kalitta Air Boeing 747-400, registration N740CK performing freight flight K4-978 from Brussels (Belgium) to Cincinnati,KY (USA), was in the initial climb out of Brussels' runway 25R when the #4 engine (CF6, outboard right) emitted a number of bangs associated with streaks of flame prompting the crew to level off at FL070 and enter a hold. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Leipzig (Germany) where the aircraft landed safely about 90 minutes after departure.
