An Indigo Airbus A320-200N, registration VT-ITQ performing flight 4E-651 from Lucknow to Jaipur (India), was climbing out of Lucknow when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 reporting high vibrations on the #2 engine (PW1127, right hand) and decided to return to Lucknow for a safe landing about 35 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200N, registration VT-ITM reached Jaipur with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 10 hours after landing.

On Feb 27th 2019 the NTSB reported the #2 engine suffered an engine stall and vibrations when the aircraft climbed through FL120 out of Lucknow, an EGT overtemperature occurred. The engine was shut down and the aircraft returned to Lucknow. Damage to the low pressure turbine stage 3 blades was found.
