An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737-700 on behalf of Malawian Airlines, registration ET-ARB performing flight 3W-20 from Blantyre (Malawi) to Johannesburg (South Africa), landed on Johannesburg's runway 03R. The aircraft rolled out safely but needed to stop due to one of the main tyres having deflated. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

People on social media were reporting in part the aircraft crash landed (the landing gear failed to extend) and in other part the wheels had locked up on landing.

Malawian Airlines reported one of the tyres deflated during normal braking, its anti skid system didn't work. The captain decided to have the aircraft towed to avoid further damage to the landing gear and its systems.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Johannesburg for about 3.5 hours, then was able to perform the return flight reaching Blantyre with a delay of about 2 hours.
