An Air Canada Boeing 787-900, registration C-FNOH performing flight AC-84 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Tel Aviv (Israel) with 296 passengers and 12 crew, was enroute at FL350 about 50nm northwest of Deer Lake,NL (Canada) when cabin crew noticed an oven in the economy class galley emitted smoke. The oven was shut down and cleaned, the smoke and odour dissipated. The aircraft continued to destination for a safe landing about 8 hours later.

The Canadian TSB reported the oven emitted smoke due to debris left in the oven. The debris had not been noticed during preflight safety checks.
