A VivaAeroBus Airbus A320-200, registration XA-VAZ performing flight VB-3147 from Cancun to Mexico City (Mexico), was climbing out of Cancun's runway 12R when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 due to a collision supposedly with a bird and decided to return to Cancun for a safe landing on runway 12R about 25 minutes after departure.

The airline confirmed the aircraft returned to Cancun due to a bird strike.

A replacement A320-200 registration XA-VAA reached Mexico City with a delay of 5:20 hours.
