A PAL Express Airbus A321-200, registration RP-C9923 performing flight PR-2814 from Davao to Manila (Philippines), was accelerating for takeoff from Davao's runway 05 when the right hand engine (V2533) ingested birds prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft slowed safely coming to a stop about 2170 meters/7150 feet down the runway and returned to the apron.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Davao for 61.5 hours, then positioned to Manila and is still on the ground in Manila about 107 hours (almost 4.5 days) after the rejected takeoff.
