A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration AP-BGK performing positioning flight PK-3011 from Islamabad (Pakistan) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), was enroute at FL400 about 300nm north of Karachi (Pakistan) when the crew decided to divert to Karachi due to a problem with the right hand engine (GE90). The aircraft landed safely on Karachi's runway 25L about 55 minutes after leaving FL400.

Flight PK-3012, which should bring Hajj pilgrims back home, is being delayed by about 24 hours as result. The airline reported accomodation and meals for the pilgrims have been arranged in Jeddah.
