A Brussels Airlines Airbus A340-300 on behalf of Eurowings, registration OO-SCX performing flight EW-1100 from Dusseldorf (Germany) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL320 about 170nm west of Dusseldorf over the English Channel when the crew decided to abort the flight due to a bleed air leak problem with one of the right hand engines (CFM56). The aircraft dumped fuel over the North Sea for 35 minutes and returned to Dusseldorf for a safe landing about 70 minutes after departure.

The aircraft had to return again the following day for the same problem.

A disgruntled passenger complained about the same flight EW-1100 returning twice to Dusseldorf, the crew telling them due to a right hand engine problem.
