An Iberia Airbus A340-600, registration EC-IOB performing flight IB-6402 from Mexico City (Mexico) to Madrid,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Mexico City's runway 05R when the crew stopped the climb at 12,000 feet MSL when the crew could not retract the landing gear. After working the checklists the aircraft climbed to 15,000 feet, dumped fuel and returned to Mexico City for a safe landing on runway 05R about 75 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 19 hours after landing back.
