Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin that the aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements due to the APU being inoperative. During the descent towards Samara the crew received low oil pressure indications for the constant speed drive of the left hand engine. It was determined that prior to the occurrence the incident flight crew had already twice deactivated/re-activated the generator. Examination of the aircraft found lack of lubrication of the constant speed drive due to oil leaks between the oil cooler and the constant speed drive. Shavings were found in the oil filter requiring the replacement of the constant speed drive and oil cooler.
