A PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N526EA performing flight OH-5548/AA-5548 from Washington National,DC to Hartford,CT (USA), was climbing out of Washington's Ronald Reagan Airport when the crew stopped the climb at about 10,000 feet due to a cracked windshield and returned to Washington's National Airport for a safe landing about 15 minutes after departure.

A replacement CRJ-700 registration N723PS reached Hartford with a delay of about 2.5 hours.
