An American Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration N293AY performing flight AA-749 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Charlotte,NC (USA), was on final aprpoach to Charlotte's runway 36R when a bird impacted the aircraft. The crew continued for a safe landing.

The FAA reported the aircraft sustained damage as result of a bird strike on final approach to Charlotte.

The aircraft returned to service after about 3.5 hours on the ground.
