A First Air Lockheed L-382 (civil variant of Hercules C-130), registration C-GUSI performing flight 7F-501 from Yellowknife,NT to Hall Beach,NU (Canada) with 5 people on board, was enroute towards Hall Beach when the crew received a #1 engine/propeller (Allison, 501-D22A, outboard left hand) low oil indication. The crew shut the engine down as a precaution and continued to Hall Beach for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported the pressure sump cap had not been installed. The oil was replenished and the cap was installed.
