An Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300, registration C-GHLV performing flight Rv-1981 from Mexico City (Mexico) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 269 passengers and 8 crew, was holding short of Mexico City's runway 05R at taxiway A1 when tower cleared the aircraft for takeoff. The aircraft began to taxi into position, the crew however identified a conflicting traffic on short final to runway 05R on their TCAS screen and stopped, already partially across the hold short line. The crew queried tower, who instructed the flight to hold short of runway 05R.

The Canadian TSB reported the conflicting aircraft was subsequently seen in the go around.
