A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration HB-JHH performing flight LX-18 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Newark,NJ (USA) with 220 passengers and 12 crew, was climbing out of Zurich with a delay of about 3.5 hours when the crew stopped the climb at FL220 due to a fuel control system fault on the left hand engine (Trent 772) preventing an Oceanic Crossing. The crew decided to return to Zurich and entered holds to burn off fuel. The aircraft is estimated to land back in about 45 minutes.

The airline reported a technical irregularity on the left hand engine prompted the return to Zurich. Passengers will be taken to hotels and will be taken to Newark during Saturday(Mar 31st).
