An Icelandair Boeing 757-200, registration TF-ISR performing flight FI-671 from Keflavik (Iceland) to Denver,CO (USA) with 113 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL360 over the Labrador Sea about 380nm northeast of Goose Bay,NL (Canada) when the crew received a right hand engine (RB211) fire indication, shut the engine down, activated the fire suppression system, declared Mayday reporting the loss of their right hand engine, drifted down to FL230 and diverted the aircraft to Goose Bay where the aircaft landed safely about 75 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance repaired the defective #2 engine fire detection system.
