A Travel Service Poland/Smartwings Boeing 737-800, registration SP-TVZ performing flight QS-3402 from Nantes (France) to Tenerife South,CI (Spain) with 150 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Nantes' runway 03 when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds at about 1000 feet AGL, the right hand engine (CFM56) ingested a number of birds prompting the crew to stop the climb at 3000 feet and return to Nantes for a safe landing on runway 03 about 10 minutes after departure.

A post flight inspection revealed 3 fan blades of the right hand engine were damaged.

A replacement Travel Service Hungary Boeing 737-800 registration HA-LKG reached Tenerife with a delay of 3 hours.
