The runway was closed for about 6 hours until the aircraft was towed off the runway.
The occurrence aircraft was still on the ground in Lucknow about 6 hours after stopping.
On Jan 4th 2018 Saudi Arabia's AIB (SAAIB) reported they are investigating the occurrence rated an accident due to substantial damage to the aircraft. The aircraft was lining up runway 27 for departure, when the left nose gear wheel detached.
Later 2018 the SAAIB reported: "The aircraft NLG left wheel assembly sustained substantial damage damages and limited to the NLG right wheel and the NLG axle." The SAAIB is conducting the investigation as India's AIB decided to not investigate. The investigation is continuing.
