A Lufthansa Airbus A340-600, registration D-AIHA performing flight LH-453 (dep Nov 19th) from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Munich (Germany), was enroute at FL350 in Canadian Airspace about 840nm northnorthwest of Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Chicago reporting a temperature control issue in the cabin. The aircraft descended to FL290 and landed safely in Chicago about 2 hours later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 19 hours, then continued the journey and reached Munich with a delay of 22.5 hours.
