The airline reported a replacement aircraft is positioning to Stephenville to continue the flight.
A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N723AN was dispatched to Stephenville as flight AA-9668, took the passengers from Stephenville to New York JFK as flight AA-9244. The passengers were subsequently taken to Miami and arrived at their destination with a delay of 22 hours.
On Oct 31st 2017 the Canadian TSB reported a windshield cracked during cruise about 975nm northeast of St. John's,NL (Canada), the crew declared emergency and performed an emergency descent to FL200. The aircraft diverted to Stephenville,NL.
