An Icelandair Boeing 757-200, registration TF-FIH performing freight flight FI-746 from Keflavik (Iceland) to East Midlands,EN (UK), was descending towards East Midlands when the crew reported problems with the flaps and entered a hold for about 25 minutes to work the checklists. The aircraft subsequently landed safely on East Midland's runway 27 at a higher than normal speed (about 160 knots over ground).

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 8 hours, then departed for the return flight FI-741.
