A KLM Airbus A330-200, registration PH-AOF performing flight KL-575 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Luanda (Angola), was enroute at FL350 about 70nm northwest of Nice (France) when the crew received indication of a right hand engine (CF6) oil leak. The crew reduced the engine to idle thrust, drifted the aircraft down to FL220 and returned to Amsterdam advising Amsterdam they were landing normally but might be leaking oil after landing. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 06 about 2.5 hours after departure.

THe occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 21.5 hours, then departed again for flight KL-575 with a delay of 24 hours.
