A KLM Airbus A321-200N, registration PH-AXB performing flight KL-1583 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Lisbon (Portugal), landed on Lisbon's runway 02, bounced but continued landing, the tail contacted the runway surface. The aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.

The return flight was cancelled.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Lisbon on Jul 7th 2026.

On Jul 7th 2026 Portugal's GPIAAF reported the damage was substantial, however, they did not open an investigation considering "the event contained in nature" and delegated the investigation to the Dutch Safety Board.
