An Aurora Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration RA-67256 performing flight HZ-4609 from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (Russia) with 21 passengers and 5 crew, was climbing out of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk when the crew reported problems with the landing gear and returned to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.

A replacement aircraft took the passengers to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

On Oct 11th 2017 Russia's Rosaviatsia reported the main landing gear could not be retracted. The cause was a malfunction of the gear handle.
