A US Airways Airbus A321-200, registration N189UW performing flight US-734 from Las Vegas,NV to Philadelphia,PA (USA), was enroute at FL310 about 230nm northeast of Phoenix,AZ (USA) when the crew initiated a rapid descend to FL200 due to problems with the air conditioning systems, subsequently descended the aircraft to 14000 feet while diverting to Phoenix for a safe landing.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration N191UW reached Philadelphia with a delay of 3 hours.

A passenger reported the crew announced a problem with the air conditioning requiring the diversion to Phoenix.
