A KLM Cityhopper Fokker 70, registration PH-KZP performing flight KL-959 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Newcastle,EN (UK), was climbing out of Amsterdam's runway 24 when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 reporting a cracked windshield, they would return for a normal landing, no emergency services were needed. The aircraft returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement Embraer ERJ-190 registration PH-EZE reached Newcastle with a delay of 2:15 hours.
