A Kalitta Air Boeing 747-400, registration N743CK performing freight flight K4-248 from Delhi (India) to Leipzig (Germany), was on final approach to Leipzig's runway 26L when the crew initiated a go around at about 2200 feet MSL reporting a problem with the flaps. The aircraft climbed to 5000 feet, the crew positioned the aircraft for another approach to runway 26L and landed safely at a higher speed than normal (about 190 knots over ground) about 15 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3:20 hours, then departed for the onward sector to Cincinnati,KY (USA).
