A Kalitta Air Boeing 777-300 freighter, registration N778CK performing flight K4-264 from Brussels (Belgium) to Cincinnati,KY (USA), touched down on Covington Airport's runway 36R at 19:52L (23:52Z) when the crew initiated and reported a go around. In the initial climb after the balked landing tower told them there had definitely been a tail strike on rotation. The aircraft climbed to 4000 feet, positioned for another approach to runway 36C and landed without further incident about 25 minutes after the go around.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Cincinnati about 33 hours after landing.

The FAA reported: "Kalitta Air Flight 264 landed safely at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport around 8:15 p.m. local time on Sunday, July 19, after the tail of the Boeing 777-300ER scraped the runway during a go-around. The flight departed from Brussels Airport in Belgium. The FAA will investigate."
