A Cargolux Boeing 747-800, registration LX-VCI performing flight CV-793 from Vienna (Austria) to Luxembourg (Luxembourg), was climbing out of Vienna's runway 29 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet due to a hydraulic leak. The crew decided to return to Vienna and landed safely back on Vienna's runway 34 about 40 minutes after departure. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

It was discovered that the tread of one of the tyres had separated and impacted a hydraulic line.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 37 hours while being repaired, then departed again and reached Luxembourg.
