A LGW Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Air Berlin, registration D-ABQC performing flight AB-8621 from Geneva (Switzerland) to Dusseldorf (Germany), was enroute at FL160 about 50nm southwest of Saarbrucken (Germany) when the crew decided to divert to Saarbrucken reporting a door open indication. The aircraft landed safely in Saarbrucken about 20 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 105 minutes, then continued the journey and reached Dusseldorf with a delay of 115 minutes.

A passenger reported the captain announced a rear door indication. The indication was identified false after landing and the aircraft was released to continue the flight.
