A Qantas Boeing 737-800, registration VH-VZR performing flight QF-495 from Sydney,NS to Melbourne,VI (Australia), was on approach to Melbourne's runway 27 when the crew went around reporting the right main gear indicated unsafe. The aircraft entered a hold while the crew was working the checklists, which resulted in three greens. The crew requested runway 34 and landed safely on runway 34 about 25 minutes after the first go-around.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 9.75 hours, then continued service.
