A Nordic Regional Airlines Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A on behalf of Finnair, registration OH-ATO performing flight AY-203 from Helsinki to Kokkola (Finland), was climbing out of Helsinki when the crew levelled off at 5000 feet due to a gear problem. The aircraft entered a hold, then the crew continued the climb to FL220. The aircraft was enroute at FL220 about 115nm north of Helsinki when the crew decided to return to Helsinki. The aircraft landed safely back in Helsinki about 75 minutes after departure.
