Bukovyna MD82 at Rasht on Feb 19th 2017, runway excursion during backtrack

A Bukovyna Aviation Enterprises McDonnell Douglas MD-82 on behalf of Iran Air, registration UR-BXM performing flight IR-453 from Tehran Mehrabad to Rasht (Iran), had safely landed on runway 27 and slowed to taxi speed. While turning around 180 degrees at the runway end to backtrack the runway to the apron at about 20:30L (17:00Z) the nose gear went off the runway into a snow covered surface of the runway strip disabling the aircraft.

The runway threshold 09 was subsequently displaced to be able to re-open the runway.

Ukraine's NBAAI reported the aircraft was unable to continue taxi on own power, the runway was temporarily closed. Iran's Authorities are investigating the occurrence, the NBAAI have accredited a representative to the investigation.
