A Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200, registration N965AT performing flight DL-1752 from Atlanta,GA to Savannah,GA (USA) with 116 people on board, was climbing out of Atlanta's runway 09L when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet advising they were probably going to return to Atlanta and entered a hold for about 25 minutes, then declared emergency reporting a flight controls issue, they needed the longest runway available and were offered Atlanta's runway 10 (length 9000 feet/2740 meters). The aircraft landed safely on Atlanta's longest runway 09L (length 12400 feet/3777 meters) at a higher speed than normal (205 knots over ground) and stopped on the runway requesting emergency services to check out the brakes and landing gear both sides due to high landing speed. The aircraft subsequently taxied to the apron.

The aircraft had suffered a similiar problem the previous day, see Incident: Delta B712 at Gulfport on Mar 12th 2017, flight control problem.
