A Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200, registration N965AT performing flight DL-2312 from Atlanta,GA to Gulfport,MS (USA) with 98 people on board, was descending towards Gulfport when the crew reported flight control problems. Without interrupting descent or entering a hold the aircraft positioned for an immediate high speed approach to runway 32 and landed safely on runway 32 at a higher than normal speed (190 knots over ground).

The airline reported a "maintenance issue", emergency services were called on standby as a precaution.

Emergency services reported they were dispatched to an aircraft reporting the loss of flight controls.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 hours, then departed Gulfport as positioning flight DL-9936 to Atlanta.
