A Jazz Canadair CRJ-705, registration C-GJAZ performing flight QK-8029 from Edmonton,AB to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 72 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 110nm southwest of Edmonton when a burning electrical odour was detected in the cabin, the flight crew received a recirculation fan EICAS message. The aircraft returned to Edmonton for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the recirculation fan was disabled and the aircraft returned to service under minimum equipment list requirements.

The aircraft reached Vancouver with a delay of 2 hours.
