The airport reported the runway needed to be cleaned before it could return to service.
On Mar 10h 2017 Brazil's CENIPA reported a fault occurred in the right hand engine which prompted the crew to reject takeoff. While slowing down the main gear left the left side of the runway for about 150 meters/500 feet. The aircraft returned to the center line of the runway and came to a stop about one third of runway length down the runway (runway length 1940 meters/6365 feet, one third being 646 meters/2122 feet). Witnesses described phenomena similiar to a compressor stall. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by CENIPA.
