A Rossiya Boeing 747-400, registration EI-XLG performing positioning flight FV-5418 from Cambridge,EN (UK) to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia), was climbing out of Cambridge's runway 23 when the landing gear did not move after being selected up. The aircraft stopped the climb at 4500 feet and returned to Cambridge for a safe landing on runway 23 about 22 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Cambridge 7.5 hours after landing back.

Cambridge Airport features a runway 05/23 of 1965 meters/6450 feet length and 45 meters/150 feet width.
