A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, registration D-ACKL performing flight LH-2246 from Munich (Germany) to Lyon (France), was in the initial climb out of Munich's runway 08R when the crew requested to stop the climb at 7000 feet to work some checklist. The crew subsequently advised they needed to return to Munich due to a technical problem and requested an ILS approach to runway 08R, no assistance was required. On final approach to runway 08R the crew advised they would perform a normal landing, however they had a nose wheel steering problem and might not be able to vacate the runway and might need to be towed. Emergency services assumed their stand by position, the aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 08R and vacated the runway.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the next flight and reached Lyon with a delay of 4:20 hours.
