A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration AP-BID performing flight PK-719 from Lahore (Pakistan) to Milan Malpensa (Italy) with 125 passengers, was on approach to Malpensa's runway 35R when a bird impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 35R.

The aircraft was unable to continue its schedule, flight PK-720 to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) and further to Lahore (Pakistan). Both legs of flight PK-720 were postponed to the next day.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 23 hours, then was able to depart for flight PK-720 to Paris and Lahore.

The airline reported that the aircraft was airworthy on departure from Lahore, a bird or some other object impacted the aircraft shortly before landing in Milan and caused minor damage to the tail of the aircraft.
